Autumn 2014

Welcome
With the start of the year already a memory, all of us here are looking forward to another year.  This newsletter has a grab bag of different articles.

We need your feedback, and are offering you the chance to win an electric toothbrush.

Again, it is your continued support that allows us to provide our services to you, and we thank you for trusting your dental care to us.

Practice Accreditation

In November of last year, we were formally advised that we had achieved voluntary Practice Accreditation under the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.  We have always strived to deliver the highest standards of dental care, and our voluntary accreditation is a public demonstration of our commitment to you and to the Springfield Community.

If you wish to learn more about what an Accredited Dental Practice means, you can learn more from the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care or our accrediting authority Quality Innovation Performance.

Tell us and WIN!

Until the end of April, we are offering you the chance to win an Oral-B Professional Care 3000 Electric Toothbrush, RRP$189.99.  But there is a catch ... we want honest feedback about our performance by completing the attached survey link.

 Customer Satisfaction Survery 2014

The survey will remain open until close of business on 30 April 2014.  To be eligible you must be an existing patient,
and have had an appointment with us since 1 March 2013 and include your name, email and a contact telephone number at the end of the survey.  The prize must be collected from the practice and will not be mailed to the winner.  The draw will take place during the first week of May 2014.

 March is Mouthguard Month
It's that time of year when the winter sports clubs are recruiting, and training starts for the upcoming season.  Mouthguard

Now is the time look at the state of your old mouthguard and to see if it will still provide the protection it was designed for.  Look for any cracks and splits in the material, and ensure that it is still flexible.  When you place the mouthguard in, ensure that it still feels comfortable.

We strongly recommend wearing your mouthguard during training and not just on match day, as the research shows us that many injuries also occur during training.

The ADA has produced a number of brochures, with the links below, but if you need any further information or to book your appointment to have your mouthguard fitted, please contact us.

Testimonials and Social Media

Healthcare provision, including dentistry, in Australia, is highly regulated, and our rules on advertising are very strict.  Even this newsletter has to follow certain guidelines and we must ensure that its content does not breach these guidelines.

The Dental Board acknowledges that social media does have a role in informing consumers on health care providers.  All of us here would love to hear you praise us publicly. However please do not be offended if we remove a post from our Facebook page, or any third party website, to ensure our compliance with the National Law.

We firmly believe that the best compliment you can give us is a referral to your family and friends.

IT Upgrade  Update

ExactBox

Our practice management software provider continues to develop innovative solutions to help us look after you better.  We are happy so many of you are using the return SMS service to confirm your appointment, this makes planning our day and your treatment much easier.

The latest addition to our messaging service is the better use of our short notice list.  If you have a time and day in mind, and it is not available, we will add you to the Short Notice List.  If a time becomes available, we can scan this list and send an SMS advising you that this time is now free.  By responding 'BOOK' your appointment is moved to this new time.

Very shortly we will also be adding the ability to book your own recall appointment through a link attached to your Recall email or SMS.

For these new features to work, we need to keep your details current, so if your mobile telephone number or email has changed, please let us know.

All of us hope that you find this communication valuable, and as always, we appreciate your feedback.

Until we see you next time, take care.
