Hollins Book Award

Hollins Book Award

Throughout the spring, the Office of Admission will recognize young women in their sophomore or junior year of high school who have demonstrated academic excellence and an interest in creative writing through the Hollins University Book Award program.

If you have an affiliation with a high school in your area (e.g. you work in the school or have a child who attends) and would like to nominate the school for inclusion in the program, there is still time!

This year's award recipients will receive a signed copy of Native Guard by Hollins graduate and U.S. Poet Laureate Natasha Trethewey M.A. '91,as well as a $250 voucher to be used toward a

Hollinsummer program of their choice or for reimbursement toward an official campus visit.

Contact Ashley Browning at abrowning@hollins.edu to learn more about the Book Award program.

Race to Reunion

Calling all alumnae: the spring alumnae referral drive is off to the races! With a deadline of May 30, 2014, progress towards the referral goal of 200 prospective students of any age has continued to advance in the Race to Reunion

As of March 25, 2014, 118 alumnae referrals have been received in support of the #RacetoReunion.

The class of 1959 leads the way for Reunion class years, with a total of eight referrals. For non-Reunion class years, the class of 1963 leads by leaps and bounds, with a total of 16 referrals.

With Reunion a short distance away, submit your referral of a prospective student in support of your class, and use #RacetoReunion to follow this campaign on Facebook and our website to monitor which class leads the pack in this referral race.

The Office of Admission looks forward to recognizing the Reunion class and non-Reunion class with the most referrals at the conclusion of this campaign!

Calling Week Round-Up

The Office of Admission would like to extend thanks to the following alumnae and parents who participated in the first annual Calling Week, and supplementary outreach campaigns by members of the Alumnae Board, Parents Council, and the Board of Trustees.
