Free Tax Preperation - The Westland Friendship Center located at 1119 Newburgh Rd. will be assisting residents by offering free tax preparation.  This program was developed for those who are low to middle income, and they also provide the Home Heating Credit. Must present photo ID at the times taxes are done. Joint returns are done in the morninig, individual returns in the afternoon. To make and appointment, please call 734-722-7632.

Scheduled Upcoming Civic Meetings - Residents are invited to attend the upcoming City meetings.  Below is a list of the meetings with their date, time and location. 

- The Police and Fire Retirement Board will meet on Monday, February 3 at 4:30 p.m. at the Westland Friendship Center located at 1119 Newburgh Rd.

-The Westland City Council meeting will be held on Monday, February 3 at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers of Westland City Hall located at 36601 Ford Rd.

-There will be a meeting of the Planning Commission on Tuesday, February 4 at 7:30 p.m. at Westland City Hall located at 36601 Ford Rd.

Friday Night Movie - The William P. Faust Westland Public Library will show a movie on Friday, February 7 at 7:00 p.m.  This week's feature is "A re-creation of the merciless 1970s rivalry between Formula One rivals James Hunt and Niki Lauda" rated R.  There will also be snacks, trivia and prizes.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Mike Modano Ice Arena - The Mike Modano Ice Arena offers an open skate on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 p.m. to 3:20 p.m., Saturdays from 2:00 p.m. - 3:20 p.m., Sundays from 3:30 p.m. - 4:50 p.m. and a Glow Skate every Friday night from 7:00 p.m. to 9:20 p.m.   The Mike Modano Ice Arena is located at 6210 Wildwood.
