Leadership Tampa Bay News                                                        Winter Edition
From the Desk of the VP

As we dive into 2014, all signs point to this being another great year. So far the class has gotten just a taste of what LTB is all about, but there is so much in store. The program days to date have been well received, and the best is yet to come!

In other great news, LTB's fearless leader, Alice Bessette, will be moving her office to a new location. LTB headquarters will be 4115 W. Spruce Street in Tampa, as of the end of this month.

To wrap, I wanted to take a moment to thank all of the companies and organizations that have shown support either by sending a representative through the program, supporting in the development of the programs, or sponsoring days. We are extremely grateful for all that you do.

Wishing the LTB family all the best in 2014.

Recent Program Days

The 2014 class has completed their Social Services and North Pinellas class days. Here is a recap:

Social Services Day-Class members began the day shadowing professionals at various social service organizations, and came together at lunch at Joshua House to reflect upon these experiences and to observe a panel on the topic of "What it Takes to be an Effective Board Member." The group received a tour of Joshua House and then listened in on a presentation of the fitting tenet of the day--compassion. Following the program day, the group met at Skipper's Smokehouse to debrief.

North Pinellas Day-The 2014 class began the day at the US Coast Guard Air Station in Clearwater where they heard accounts of the day's tenet (courage) direct from the source. They then paid a visit to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, and enjoyed lunch and presentations from the mayor and city council members at the Hyatt on Clearwater Beach. After lunch, the group headed over to Dunedin where they took a walking tour of downtown with the city's economic and housing development director, visited the Stirling Arts Studio and ended the day at the Dunedin Fine Arts Center. The class debriefed at Luna in Carillon with Leadership Pinellas.
