In 1926, The Harley School celebrated Candlelight for the first time. Tonight we continued the beautiful tradition with an evening of songs, readings, and poems commemorating the winter celebrations of the Harley community. We were delighted to have so many alumni join current students and families for the festivities.

Sands-Stern Award Winners

The 2013 Sands-Stern Award went to Debra Schaller Willsea '73 and Peter Willsea '72.

The Sands-Stern Award is given out every December at The Harley Circle Celebration to recognize an individual or family whom has demonstrated their extraordinary commitment to The Harley School through contribution of their service and passion. This award was given in honor of Richard Sands '69, Robert Sands '76, Andy Stern and Melissa McGrain and their family's long term dedication to the School. Past recipients also include current parents, Arunas and Pam Chesonis, Joe '48 and Nancy Briggs, and Phyllis Bentley '45. Deb and Peter join this prestigious group.
Alumni in the News

Kitty Lindsay Hawks '66 stopped by School recently to share that her brother, Donald Lindsay '76, has been named a world champion beer sommelier in an international competition in Germany.

Conger Gabel '62 was a guest essayist for the Democrat and Chronicle article Stemming Summer Loss about partnerships throughout the city of Rochester (including Horizons at Harley) that help hundreds of city students achieve academic success.

Ashley Sands '07 and not-for-profit, Blue Sky Project, are having a private premier and screening for their new documentary Beginning with the End at the Little Theater. Go to www.bspfilms.org to watch the trailer and to learn more about Blue Sky Project.
