Good morning ladies,

I hope this finds you well!  We are gearing up for our Newbie Nights and tomorrow it is going to be 55 degrees!  There are three important items in this email.

1) A big announcement
2) Our first bike ride of the season is tomorrow at 12 noon
3) Our Broad Street Buses are almost full

 1)  OUR BIG ANNOUNCEMENT
The Mullica Hill Women's Triathlon Club will be expanding  Queen of the Hill.  We are partnering with Barb McKeever, former Director of the SheROX Triathlon Series and have created the  Queen's Sprint Triathlon Series.  This is an  ALL Women's Sprint Triathlon series and will feature  Queen of the Hill Tri  & Queen of the Crest Tri in Wildwood NJ.   We are thrilled to be working together on an all-women's sprint distance triathlon series which also features a duathlon and relay teams.

The Queen's Series  will start with Queen of the Hill on Saturday, June 28th.  Queen of the Hill  is a mile swim in a private lake, a 10 mile ride on the rural roads of Mullica Hill and a fast and flat out and back 5K.  All participants get the royal treatment including hair braiding, access to posh stations, a serenade as you walk to the edge of the water and a regal brunch.  We will even have a royal seamstress. All age group finishers will get tiaras.  The Queen's court will be given roses, champagne and sashed- simply spoiled silly.  We are adding Royal Greeters- who will help anyone who needs assistance in setting up transition! Last year, the Queen and her court all finished within four seconds of each other.  It was so exciting!   In addition to Queen of the hill, we crowned our first Teen of the Hill .  The inclusion of teens in our event is even more exciting since the NCAA has passed the sport of triathlon as an official college sport .  As our membership grows so does participation in Queen of the Hill.  Last year we sold out within 48 hours with 375 participants. We expect over 1000 members to join our club this year, so a race is being added.  Queen of the Hill will open to the public on March 1, and we expect it to sell out within 48 hours.

The second race is called the Queen of the Crest Triathlon, which will take place in Wildwood Crest, NJ on August 3rd.  It will have the same pomp and circumstances as Queen of the Hill but we are stepping it up a notch with a mile ocean swim and flat and fast beach run (packed sand) and a beautiful scenic ride.  We will be sure to add all the small touches that I mentioned above that are part of Queen of the Hill, but it will be on a much larger scale.  We will work behind the scenes with Barb to make this a truly special triathlon.  Special touches include a Survivors Wave (for all cancer survivors), a mentor/mentee program for all of our newbies and a few additional surprises! We will also offer many opportunities to practice swimming in the ocean.  We are very excited to partner with Barb Mckeever on this race and expect it to be simply sensational.

We are currently working on a third race location to conclude the Queen's Series but it is still in the preliminary stages. One thing for sure.. It will be a destination triathlon!

If you are going to the Endurance Expo this weekend please stop by the Queen Tri Series expo booth.   Michelle, Maureen, Barb, Kristin & Elyse will be present to answer any questions. Bob Clowry, Queen of the Crest Water Safety & Beach Patrol will be present to talk about the swim & answer questions on Saturday, Feb 22 from open 9am - 1:30pm.   Registration for  Queen of the Crest will be open on Saturday .  Here is the link to sign up for QUEEN OF THE CREST- be sure to use the $10 off code.   Click here to sign up for  starting tomorrow. 2) FIRST BIKE RIDE OF THE SEASON.  I have to take advantage of this weather!  Our first ride will be at 12 noon leaving from Ella Harris Park on the side of Commissioners Road. This is located in Mullica Hill.   If you are going South on Main Street, you take the 2nd fork (at the old GULF station), parking is about 1/4 down on the left.  You MUST be a 2014 member to join us and you MUST have a helmet.   Other than that...any bike will do.  Riders choice of 5 miles, 13 miles or 20 miles!   My phone number is: 609- 577-4804 if there is an issue.  PLEASE get there by 11:45 am so I can go over safety information. Newbies- as always are encouraged to come out!

3) The Broad Street Buses are almost at capacity!  Please sign up sooner than later to ride with us.

Ugh...  I have to lead a conference call for work in one minute. Outta here.. sorry if there are spelling errors.
