WISCONSIN POLICE K-9'S WILL RECEIVE UNPRECEDENTED 
SUPPORT BY LOCAL CELEBRITIES

Greenfield, WI July 9, 2015 - In its mission to provide total wellness for Wisconsin's police canines, the MECA  Wisconsin Police Canine Vest Foundation, Inc. (The MECA Foundation) is presenting its 4
th  annual MECA Vest A K9 Fest.  The yearly event will be held on July 18
th , 2015 from 10am-3pm at the Milwaukee Emergency Center for Animals, 3670 S. 108
th  Street, Greenfield, WI. 

"To say I'm thrilled by this year's program is an understatement.  Each year our event gets bigger and better, but I'm truly humbled by the support we have received this year.  From the endorsement of Wisconsin's professional athletes to the generosity of the community, 2015's MECA Vest a K9 Fest will be the best yet",  said Dr. Marla Lichtenberger, founder of MECA Foundation. 

The MECA Vest A K9 festivities will include a star-studded lineup including Wisconsin's own Jared Abbrederis who, after playing for the Wisconsin Badgers, was drafted by the Green Bay Packers.  Abbrederis will be joined by Milwaukee professional baseball players Hernan Perez, Scooter Gennett, Neal Cotts, Corey Knebel, Michael Blazek, Jeffry Jeffries, Shane Peterson, Khris Davis, Taylor Jungmann, and Will Smith.  Autographs and photographs will be available.

Hollywood stuntwoman, Anita Hart will take on DJ, a Greenfield K-9 officer in an exhilarating apprehension stunt.  Attendees will be able to watch police dog demonstrations and dog agility shows.  Pet owners are welcome to bring their animals for a Pet Blessing courtesy of Pastor Bill Burkert from Our Lady of Lourdes.  Enjoy live entertainment from WAMI Award Winning country singer-songwriter Nora Collins and food from Kokopelli's. 

MECA Vest A K9 Fest-goers will be able to partake in an extensive silent auction, closing at 2pm.  Raffles, including a brand new water heater courtesy of Flat Rate Home Services, will be held throughout the day.

The MECA Foundation, founded by Marla Lichtenberger, DVM, DACVECC is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting every police dog in the state of Wisconsin with bullet resistant and stab proof vests.  In addition, the MECA Foundation also assists Wisconsin police K-9 Units purchase police dogs by donating grants to Wisconsin K-9 Units.
