Girl Power Summer Camps
Friendship, Learning and Activism

During the two Girl Power camps we held in July, girls explored topics like gender, identity, self-esteem, body image, healthy relationships and leadership. Activities included self-defense, belly dancing, crafts, a puppet show and a street activism project. Here's what some of the girls had to say about their experiences at Girl Power:

  • "I liked meeting new friends here. It was awesome and I hope to see everybody again soon."
  • "I learned to love myself."
  • "I learned that 66 million girls around the world are deprived of education."
  • "I am going to help people that [are] getting bullied."
