My Sketching and Journaling Art Retreat is the perfect environment to start or expand your artistic journey.
 
No art experience is necessary and everyone is welcome to join in as we sketch and journal our week together. Surrounded by beauty, we will discover how to draw and sketch the wonderful things around us using a variety of methods. Learn how and what to paint as we fill our sketchbooks with our thoughts and adventures. But thats not all, I have more in store for you as we explore some mono printing, fabric painting and more.

We will be taking day trips to the coast, nature walks, garden tours etc.  We will also have the beautiful Bohemian Hall, a large work area for us to explore some mono printing and fabric painting as we venture to explore more of our creative selves. Desiree Habicht is an award winning, multi media artist, teacher and designer. Desiree's art has been featured in books, magazines and is collected by both corporate and private collectors throughout the country. Desiree has also been teaching a ongoing sketch class each month for the last 5 years, challenging her students to reach inside and let go of the fear or perfectionism.  Come enjoy a weeklong adventure with her gentle guidance, motivation and encouraging teaching style. Learn some of the secrets to creating and maintaining a sketchbook journal, how to develop your own style and record the things around you. Learn some tips on how to begin using your artistic eye to really see things in a new and exciting way as you draw them. No matter your skill level, Desiree will gently lead you forward in your artist journey. Where we will be staying?
 

We will be staying at the The Madrones in Philo, CA. This award winning B&B has been featured in The Traveler Magazine, Sunset Magazine, Forbes Magazine and more, it is called a must stay destination.  It is home to many special events throughout the year and we are lucky enough to have our creative week here! The accommodations are 5 star and with 2014 already sold out we were lucky enough to block out a full week.

Traveling Info:

 

The closest airports are in Oakland, CA with shuttles to Santa Rosa. You can rent a car or carpool to the property. More details to follow.

 

 Our Tentative Schedule

 

On October 3rd, we will be having a Welcome dinner and get acquainted night with some icebreakers. That night you will receive a full itinerary of our week together. Many of your meals will be provided while some will be up to you. There are several dinner options available. Once you have reserved your spot you will receive a personal, hand written note from Desiree regarding some things you might want to bring with you on your adventure to assure you have the best experience possible. On October 8th, we will be having our farewell dinner and a time of sharing. On the 9th, the day of departure, we will have a closing time of gratitude and reflection about our week together.
