Pathways in Ministry: Navigating the Ordination Process - Wednesday, November 20, 11:00am - 12:15pm - Wingate 201 | All those who are planning for or considering ordination are invited to meet representatives from a number of denominations: Episcopal, Baptist, Presbyterian, UCC, UMC, and Lutheran - who will share about the ordination process within their traditions. Come learn what you need to do to prepare for ordination as well as how to make denominational connections as you seek a call to ministry. Financial Assistance Funds Available | The School of Divinity offers two financial resources to help students: Stealey's Purse for students in emergency financial situations and Student Academic Conference Grants to attend academic or denominational conferences. More information about these two resources, including how to apply, is online.

 
 
 
 

SAVE THE DATE: School of Divinity Retreat | All are invited to the first School of Divinity Retreat form January 31 - February 1, 2014 at Haw River State Park. The retreat is open to all and will be an opportunity for community building, spiritual growth, and rest. The cost will be $35 per person for three meals, retreat programming, and double occupancy room. More information to come, so mark your calendars now!
 
 
Exam Study Spaces | The Lower Auditorium and rooms 105, 114, 201, 202, 213, 301A, and 302 will be available for your use the week of December 7 - 14 as exam study spaces each day from 8:00am until midnight. Please note previously scheduled meetings and other room commitments (like final exams) have priority access to spaces previously reserved. Be courteous if another group is already in a space during that week.

In this gallery talk he will discuss aspects of still-lifes, particularly the anxieties that they embody and that energize them.

"Things Wondrous and Humble: American Still Life" Exhibition at Reynolda House Museum of American Art | Explore both traditional and unexpected approaches to still life in this exhibition featuring some of the finest examples of still life from collections across the state. Explore how objects appeal to the senses, how tabletop arrangements become an artist's study tool, and how any object can have meaning. Now through December 8th. >>More information.
 
 
Life After Death: The Day of the Dead in Mexico at the Museum of AnthropologyMOA's annual exhibit includes new information with sections about the celebration's history and its unique folk art. The centerpiece is a traditional Mexican ofrenda: a home altar with sugar skulls, colorful tissue paper cutouts, food and beverage offerings, marigolds, and photos of deceased relatives to honor the dead. A children's ofrenda and a digital photo essay illustrating different aspects of the celebration are also on display. Text is in English and Spanish. Admission is free. Exhibit runs through December 13.
