Research conducted on the topic of skin aging has been occupying scientists around the world. What we do know is that skin aging depends on a number of various different factors.

 Skin aging is a result of the natural aging process which includes decelerated cell division, reduced blood supply to vessels, genetic predispositions and hormonal changes. On the other hand, external factors largely dependent on a person's lifestyle can lead to aggressive premature aging. Excessive sun exposure, environmental pollutants, smoking, excessive alcohol intake, poor diet and emotional stress are also factors affecting how skin ages.

 The causes of skin aging are therefore not only found in our genes, it is the strain of modern-day life that also takes its toll on the skin. Over the course of time, the skin's natural protective mechanisms are weakened and cell renewal slows down. The skin loses its radiance, is less elastic and wrinkles become visible.
