"Nick Cave: Here Hear" Dance Lab
Don't miss the chance to see Nick Cave's soundsuits in action during a live performance in the city of Detroit on Friday, July 31, 6:30-7:30. Cave has partnered with choreographer Hardcore Detroit and musicians Odu Afrobeat Orchestra, and are given a "box" of supplies they will use to create a live performance. All performances are FREE and open to the public. (Rain date: August 1, 6:30-7:30)

Eight Detroit artists, linked by shared interests in labor, craft, process and material, join together in dialogue by presenting pieces from each of their unique studio practices. "Sampled" presents work from Corrie Baldauf, Lynn Bennett Carpenter, Annica Cuppetelli, Carrie Dickason, Jessica Frelinghuysen, Megan Heeres, Rod Klingelhofer, and Jeremy Noonan.

Working from photographs and direct observation, both artists participate in painting's tradition but also play with new ideas, mediums and technology. The show opens 7pm, Saturday August 1st, and re-opens for the following 2 Saturdays, from noon to 5p.

The North Campus Research Complex (NCRC) is pleased to present the solo exhibition Glass Lily Garden by April Wagner, now through September 16, 2015, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:30 pm. The award-winning glass artist, April Wagner of epiphany glass in Pontiac, has gathered a group of vibrant glass lilies in a rainbow of colors for the exhibition Glass Lily Garden this summer at NCRC.

Lost Art of Record Albums 

EXTENDED! Vinyl record albums have been slowly making a comeback for a number of years, but if you're old enough perhaps you'll remember them from the first time around, or just simply appreciate the often highly creative artwork adorning these platters since their inception. The DCAC and the Padzieski Art Gallery are proudly presenting a fun exhibition featuring some of the best examples of "The Lost Art of Record Albums" and their diverse designs - with support and assistance from area collectors as well as local purveyors of vinyl and more, Dearborn Music. Gallery hours: Tuesday through Friday 12pm to 6pm and select weekends.
