APPLICATIONS FOR THE SAN PEDRO ? FESTIVAL  OF THE ARTS

The SAN PEDRO ? FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS (formerly SP TriArt Festival)l is a free family event on September 19-20, 2015 featuring dance, music & crafts in Ports O'Call Village on the waterfront. This will be its 9th year, the 5th at this beautiful outside location and the ocean in view. We have been awarded our second Department of Cultural Affairs, City of LA, Festival Grant and this year there will again be an honorarium for professional companies.

See more about last year's festival- www.triartSP.com and see the video above or at http://youtu.be/wMJl5D1zdNQ

To apply: See our website

or email:  Louise Reichlin, Dance Director and Producer

Early deadline: June 30 - Initial scheduling, Extended deadline: July 15.

1- Name of company &/or choreographer.

2- What you would like to perform.

3- Digital press packet / video link of work if finished, or representative of your work.

4- If it is a new work, include projected music / themes.

5- If you performed last season, please submit a different work if interested in applying.

This is for an outdoor marley covered stage approximately 32 x 28 feet. Each set will be 10-25 minutes for professional companies and artists. The programs open with 2-3 pre-professional groups each day, so we'd like to hear from schools also (sets under 10 minutes). The turn out on each day was several thousand over the days events. We anticipate good coverage for the event, both before and after.

The festival is a special project of Los Angeles Choreographers & Dancers, Louise Reichlin Director. We hope to host many of you again, and excited about new groups and works we haven't seen. To clarify, all professional dance companies will get honorarium based on length of set, and pre-professional groups will again open the programs as a showcase. There will also be a series of free previews in different locations including Alvas Showroom on August 29 and People's Place on Sept 3.

We are also looking for volunteers leading up to and during the festival, sponsors, prize donations for the free drawings, crafts and visual artists, music producers, and music groups. Visual artists can show their work for free, or if wishing to sell their art, can buy a booth for $50.

More about our sponsors and producers to follow. Right now we want to hear about you!

Is Your Company Listed in the So. CA Dance Directory?
The Southern CA Dance Directory that I began in 1995 is alive and well with over 566+ listings of professional dance companies and related organizations. This free service is accessed by thousands of people each month, and I've heard that dance jobs have often come about through the information! But....if the wrong email or phone number is there, it's up to you to contact us and it will be fixed, usually within 24 hours. If you are not there and would like to be, please email the information in the format that is there. This is a special project that is a labor of love - no grants funds involved - so if you want to use it, please help keep it up to date. You can reach us at 213-385-1171 or [email protected]

Special Thanks

Special thanks to you for your support!
Our winter fund drive was successful, and if you haven't received a thank you yet, its coming very soon! Please continue to contribute and consider raising the amount if you are able. Our fiscal year goes through June 30! The Los Angeles County Arts Commission and DCA City of Los Angeles grants are all matching grants, and go towards the San Pedro ? Festival of the Arts  in September,  2 free school performances in the Valley and South LA, and our ongoing educational and performance projects.
Our school activities funded by Don Knabe's Educational Partnership Grant need matching funds. We will be touring in the USA to locations in the South, West, and East coasts this next season. New funds from you can take us to any location in LA or and further.  If you donate, you can help us get to your location!! Please visit our website to make your donation
