Willamette River Camp

Join us for a weeklong exploration of Portland’s backyard at Willamette River Camp!

Students in grades 6-8 will enjoy 5 fun filled days of adventure while learning about the incredible diversity of natural wonders that exist along the Willamette River!

Over the course of this river-based camp, we will explore different reaches of the lower Willamette River by canoe. Each day we will work on honing our paddling skills, while learning about the diversity of plants and wildlife that live along the banks of the Willamette River and its islands. Participants will learn about the gifts and challenges facing this special place and help out with a hands-on service project to restore our river.

During this week of discovery participants will engage in science-based inquiry, practice leadership, improve canoeing skills, and have a blast learning more about our local bioregion!

Explore this incredible place in our backyard by canoe.

Learn about river ecology, water quality, and safe paddling.

Serve to help us restore the islands and shoreline of the Willamette.

Lead each other in the adventure of a lifetime.

Grow in your knowledge and appreciation of the river.
