BOOKS:  Copies of the book are available to borrow at the Circulation Desk.

Usually the group orders food to be delivered to the library.  This month we will be meeting at Mr. G's at  453 Williams Street, New London which has a full menu, including Fish & Chips to go with our book that takes places in England. For menu and directions:Mr. G's Restaurant 

 

 

            
Art Exhibit Opening  
Wednesday, January 15
5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Join us for the opening of Rick Gipstein's permanent photography exhibit of architecturally significant features of our history library.


            
Community Knit 
Every Thursday, 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Learn the healing and calming effects of knitting and crocheting.
Socialize with others with the same interest.
Help others by either teaching someone to knit or
making something needed by a child, a senior citizen,
or a homeless person.

Bring your knitting materials!  Some materials may be
provided.


            
Introduction To Computers  
Friday, January 17
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

This hands-on class is for the beginner who has little or no experience using a computer. It will introduce you to the basics of computer terminology and the popular word  

processing program Microsoft WORD. There are no  

prerequisites for this class. Seats are limited to 5.

Pizza and Pages for Tweens and Teens

Book discussion group for Tweens (ages 10-12) and Young Teens. This month's book is "Ender's Game" and copies are available now for checkout. Kids should bring their book to the meeting. Pizza will be available to participants free of charge.


 

 

 

 

  CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS         

Raising Readers 
Friday, January 10 and Friday, January 17            10:00 am - 11:00 am 
 

Raising Readers is a club that was developed to help parents and caregivers of children ages birth-8 support their children's literacy development through the many opportunities that arise  

each day. The club offers eight informal, informational sessions  

covering a variety of topics. All registered participants will receive  

a new, free book at each session.  

 

Scheduled Sessions: Fridays from 10am-11am on the following Fridays:

December 6, 13, 20: January 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 at the Public Library  

of New London in the Community Room.

January is National Soup Month! So let's celebrate by sharing stories about soup with storytime friends in the Children's Room. Preschool and daycare groups are welcome. No registration required.

My Child And Me Music Class
Thursday, January 16 (weekly program every Thursday)
10:30 am - 11:30 am

 

A music class for kids birth-5 years of age to foster music literacy and a life-long love of music! Early childhood music classes will provide meaningful musical experiences for children and families. Babies, toddlers, and pre-schoolers will participate in singing, expressive movement, games, creative play, vocal exploration, and instrumental play. Caregivers will be an integral part of the class and will learn how they can incorporate music into their daily routines with children.
