New In the Shop
Sherri West baskets
Shorewood, Minnesota artist Sherri West twines waxed linen to create one-of-a-kind baskets. When picked up and cradled in your hands, they have the feel and presence of hardened clay pottery. She adds her "signature" with beads and Milagros hanging from the final woven strands.  $175 - $275 (Textile Center Members, $157.50 - $247.50)

Fiber Artists Drop-in Group

@Textile Center

Tuesdays, 9 to noon

Come in out of the cold and drop in to the fiber artists group that gathers every Tuesday morning. We are beaders, quilters, knitters, rug hookers, embroiderers, and any other kind of fiber arts you can think of.  We work, we laugh, we consult, and suggest. There's a minimal fee and not much else required. It would be lovely to see you.

Artist Sought

The Development Team at Schafer Richardson is seeking an artist to design a temporary art installation on a construction fence. The location will be at Central Avenue and 6th Street NE where we are currently constructing Red 20, a mixed use development with 130 apartment units and 10,000 square feet of retail space. We are open to all creative ideas; however, we have expressed interest in using yarn or other fabric material that could be "woven" into the fence to create a geometric design. We hope to have the installation completed in April or May. If interested, contact Amanda Janzen at 612-359-5845 or [email protected]. Please provide some background information on yourself, examples of comparable previous work, suggested ideas, and compensation requirements.
