No matter the language we use or the religion we embrace, our most fervent prayers are those deepest desires offered in wordless plea, carried to God on the fragile wings of faith. For these prayers there are no words, nor motions or positions; they are a yearning, a need, an urge that only God can satisfy.

Wednesday Morning Bible Study
Wednesday morning Bible study continues at 8:30 am at Genuine Joe's Coffee Shop at 2001 W. Anderson Lane. The group will be starting the study of II Samuel next Wed. morning, so it's a good time to join up.

Concert

Come get your green on! Irish fiddler Niamh Fahy (she hails from County Meath) and renowned Celtic musicians Jeff Moore and Jon Milton get St. Paddy's festivities off to a fine and authentic start!  Irish traditional music in the "pure drop" style - jigs, reels, polkas and ballads - family-friendly and great fun for all ages.  Dancing in the aisles strongly encouraged!  2200 Justin Lane at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection.  Donations gratefully accepted at the door ($10 suggested); plenty of free parking available. 
Meet Cindy Riley


Cindy Riley is our Nursery attendant, and she's been with us for almost two years, now. Many people would be surprised to learn that she comes to us through an agency. After many years of trying unsuccessfully to hire an attendant, we did as numerous other churches do: we consulted with an  agency. After trying one or two candidates initially, they sent "our Cindy." She is very experienced and has worked with churches before coming to Resurrection.

 

Cindy doesn't just sit in the nursery and watch; she engages with the children and keeps them busy with games and play. She is, as all workers with children in the Diocese of Texas must  be,
certified in Safe Guarding God's Children. Although she may work occasionally during the week at other churches, we aren't letting her get away from us here. Thanks so much to Cindy and Thanks be to God, for her good work with our children.

 
News From the Atrium
Dear Friends,

 

Last night was our first family Lenten supper/choir night, which includes some atrium time at 7pm.  That's late, I know.  The purpose is to make available a children's activity for those kids who will have had choir rehearsal the hour before, 6-7pm.

Even if your child has never sung before in a choir, s/he is very welcome.  Sara, our choir director, is going to have them practice for singing on Sundays in Lent, and especially on Easter Sunday.

The 7-8pm time is for parents who'd like to sing.

Otherwise, this Sunday, March 1, we will have the Level II time at 9am-10:15am.  That's for all ages.  We'll resume the 8:30 Level I (ages 3-6) the following Sunday.

Blessing bags are typically filled with necessities for homeless folk: toothpastes, toothbrushes, bars of soap, washcloth, snack bar, little bottle of water, pair of socks, razor, deodorant 

 

Bring whatever supplies you wish to donate, and we will set up an assembly line.  Children especially get into this activity.  Lunch will be served.

2015 Annual Retreat Date Is Set
  We have the date; we have the place, so mark your calendars for Saturday, October 10th for a day long Annual Retreat. This year we have the Group Dining Hall at McKinney Falls State Park reserved from 10 am  until 9 pm. Unlike years past, this will be a one full day event at a locally beautiful and easily accessible State Park. There are cooking facilities for lunch and dinner, plus many wonderful trails and water features to enjoy. More details will be provided as time  passes, but get it on your

Celebrating 115 Years of Ministry
On Sunday March 1st, University of Texas graduates from our congregation are invited to participate in a celebration of 11 years of ministry to the student community by the Episcopal Missioners. It will be held in the All Saints' sanctuary. and Bishop Harrison will be presiding. They are hoping that at least two graduates from each congregation will attend to participate in the liturgy. Participants will need to arrive by 4:30 pm.
