Sermon: Rev. LeeAnn Inman

 "Setting the Table"

Scripture: Luke 14:15-24

Christians recognize the power that eating together holds. Sharing food shapes our experience of community. Take advantage of these opportunities to bring our current hospitality theme to life:

*IN THE SPIRIT OF COMMUNITY: join us this Sunday, April 26th for a "POP-UP PICNIC" at 12:15 p.m.  Bring your lunch and enjoy Portico fellowship time with your Peace Church family.  We'll bring the lemonade!

*MAKE A NEW FRIEND: Make it a point this Sunday morning to learn somebody's name that you did not know when you got here. What's their story?

*FOLLOW UP ON AN OLD FRIEND: Call, write, or text and check on someone from your Peace family whom you haven't seen in a while. You know, the one you are thinking "I wonder where so-and-so has been?"

*BREAK BREAD WITH AN OLD OR NEW FRIEND:  Make a point of sharing a cup of coffee, a piece of pie, or a full blown meal with somebody you've lost touch with or would like to get to know better.  That's where relationships happen!

*THE REVIVAL OF DINNER GROUPS:  In Peace's founding days, folks signed up to be randomly paired with others for a series of dinners they shared to get to know one another better.  We're bringing it back!  Sign up to participate on Sunday!

Peace Pedalers Bike the 75 Mile MS Citrus Tour - May 2

Support Team "Peace Pedalers" in 2015!  We formed our church cycling team in 2009 to raise funds to help find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis (this disease affects several of our Peace church members). On May 2nd and 3rd members of our team will be bicycling 75 and 150 mile routes on the MS Citrus Tour to raise funds!  You can make an online donation (for a specific rider) or donate via check or cash at church - just indicate "MS Ride" on the memo line. Great research strides have been made in the last several years, but MS still has no cure. With your support we can help defeat this disease!

Annual Chili Cook-off - May 3

Chili Cook-off contestants needed: Sign up to test your favorite Chili recipe and be a contestant in our Children's Ministries annual Chili Cook-off.  Prepare approximately 2 gallons of your best chili and bring it to church on Sunday, May 3 to serve between worship services.  Church members vote to decide their favorite. Who knows, you could be number one!  To sign up and for complete details, contact Julie Chatfield at [email protected]or 321-689-6899.

"Dress a Girl" Workshops Resume - May 7 @ 9:30 a.m.

A huge thank you for your generosity, prayers, encouragement and help!  Our sewing ministry would not happen without ALL of you.  God has blessed us and answered our prayers through your kindness.  Every ribbon, thread and machine has made a difference!

So many ladies from the church and the community have come forward to help us with sewing that we are succeeding in our Peace UM Church mission to Dress A Girl Around the World.  To date we have made over 300 dresses and 180 dolls, which have been distributed in India, Haiti and the Philippines.  We are now branching out and have started making boys shorts and hygiene kits for countries without paper products.

We are always glad to see new faces join us in this worthy mission.  We have kits that you can take home to sew, as many or as few as you want. Our sewing sessions in the sanctuary resume on Thursday, May 7th at 9:30 a.m. These dresses will go to little girls in Nigeria, Ethiopia and the Bahamas.  Come and join us!
