VMP Tuning and Superchargers announces the official launch of the VMP GEN II TVS for 2015 Mustang GT

Press Release

Deltona, Florida

May 11, 2015

VMP Tuning and Superchargers, the leader in TVS supercharger technology, today announced its latest  VMP GEN II TVS program for 2015 Mustang GT.  After a year of unprecedented success with the VMP GEN II on 2011-14 S197 Coyote Mustangs, this evolution to the '15 was a natural transition but one not without challenges.

"The great looking, raked hood on the 2015 Mustang requires a lower height intake manifold to clear the VMP GEN II with its larger inlet, integrated elbow, and massive VMP Twin Jet 67mm throttle body." says VMP's Justin Starkey.  All 2015 spec kits ship with this specific manifold, the 15 spec kit will back date to 11-14, but 11-14 kits will not fit 2015 without modification (drop motor mounts or cowl hood).

Over the past few years, VMP 2.3L TVS superchargers have found their way onto some of the quickest and fastest 5.0's in the country including Rebecca Starkey Racing's 2011 5.0 which campaigns in the competitive NMRA Coyote Modified class.  "With the increased flow and power of the new VMP GEN II blower, we've broken into the 8 second zone with trap speeds of over 150mph" says Rebecca Starkey, owner and driver of the 2011 drag car.  Continuing, "And the amazing thing is that this supercharger is just as at home on the street as it is the track.  I recently drove it from VMP's home office to NMRA Spring Break in Bradenton, passing competing cars being trailered along the way".

VMP's GEN II for Coyote is available now, beginning at just $5999.00.  Complete, bolt-on kits with GEN II, VMP's triple pass/dual fan heat exchanger and a new SCT X4 with custom calibrations by Lund Racing are just $6999.00.  "Lund Racing has been leading the way on '15 power adder calibrations and we saw this as a way to combine their expertise with our cutting edge TVS technology and have a win-win for the enthusiast and owner of these great cars" added Justin Starkey.  Lund Racing's Ken Bjonnes is adding a VMP GEN II to his own Comp Orange GT and is clearly going to be a killer combo.

VMP GEN II TVS superchargers are available for 2011-2015 Coyote-powered GTs, 2007-2014 GT500 and our newest offering, an updated version of the VMP TVS for 2003-04 SVT Cobra.  The superchargers as well as supporting calibrations and modifications are available at www.VMPTuning.com as well as select outlets like Late Model Restoration, TPS Motorsports, Kurgan Motorsports, and Lethal Performance.

VMP On The Road

Nearly 490 cars were registered for this year's Shelbyfest at it new location in Jefferson City, MO two weeks ago. VMP was there once again modding and tuning cars on our mobile dyno.  Thanks to everyone that joined Team VMP with their Shelbys and those that just came by to say hello. Props to Kyle Caraway for putting on another great event.  We'll be there again next year!

NMRA racing continued that same weekend it Maryland International Raceway as Rebecca Starkey Racing competed in the Coyote Modified class with her 2011 GT drag car.  Rebecca's car is a solid 8 second ride and features the VMP GEN II TVS for 5.0L.  MIR was also the site for the unveiling of Billet Pro Shop's GT500 that made the switch to a VMP GEN II this year.  Driver/owner Mat Brunette put his car into the 8's for the first time with some eye-popping 2nd gear wheelstanding to get a little attention.

Speaking of NMRA at MIR........Team VMP's Rick Kaknes debuted his GEN II for 03-04 Cobra and smashed personal records as well as taking home some big time hardware!  Turn your Terminator into a Dominator right here  VMP GEN II for Cobra
