Another fantastic 4th of July Celebration is in the books! Scott Garber and his crew did an amazing job. A special thanks goes out to the City of Miami Parks Department. They work hard getting everything mowed, the stage in place, trash dumped, and cleaned up after. They are the unsung heroes of the day. Also thanks to Mark and Kim Folks, Butch and Debbie Pollard, Debbie Jurgensmeyer and Mike Bolton for cooking and wrapping the 700 hot dogs given away. Brand, Carole and I would have been lost without you! Have you checked out the Chamber's new webpage? Go to miamiokchamber.com Have you registered for the Willie Run? Info is in this email. It is scheduled for July 18, so don't delay. Have a great week! Michele "Alone we can do so little, but together we can do so much." Helen Keller |

Help is needed! Please consider one or more of the following ways you can show support.
- Volunteer-We need a multitude of volunteers to make this project run smoothly. You can volunteer for the entire day or pick whatever fits into your time schedule. Please list what area you would like to help with. The areas that you could help with are:
Aug 3rd -Setting up of the tables and supplies
Aug 4th-Passing out supplies, crowd control, breaking down boxes, clean up, etc.
- Donations-We need lots of donations to make this project a SUCCESS!! Monetary or school supply donations would be greatly appreciated. An example of what other agencies have done in the past is purchasing crayons and placing an address label on the box advertising where the item was donated. Another example is purchasing pencils/pens with a printed logo.
Kathy sets up a resource fair each year. The resource fair is set up so that each person that attends the fair walks by your booth. Some vendors give away items at their booth but mainly designed to provide information on services that are offered to families.
- First Baptist Church - 24 A SW Miami 918-542-1691
Clothing donations, children sizes only, can be dropped off at the church to assist our families with providing clothing to their children before school starts. It is crucial for students to start school with new or gently used clothes.
If you have questions, would like to volunteer, or make some type of donation please feel free to contact any of the School Based Social Workers that are listed below:
