Come Sing About Love

On May 2nd, North Shore Music Theater will be filled with light and the spirit of hope, as Voices of Hope takes the stage to perform Godspell for one night only!

The Godspell revival is full of the songs you know and love, reworked into electrically charged harmonies that make you want to get up and dance. The familiar story will take you from laughter to tears, and--ultimately--to hope.

Not only are we looking forward to a stellar show, our spring auction is shaping up to be an amazing event. Before the performance and during intermission you'll have an opportunity to bid on a wide array of fantastic items including: a ride in the Historic B17 Flying Fortress, a wonderful Red Sox Package at the State St. Pavilion, an authentic Mexican Stratocaster, and a one of a kind, custom illustration from Dean Kelly, one of the talented lead artists at Pixar! There will also be gift baskets galore, and our ever popular Lottery Ticket Board!

So come join us on May 2nd! The bidding will be hot and the show even hotter. It will truly be a night to remember!

Come sing about love!

A Note from Our Founder
April 13th is the anniversary of mom's passing. It was also the beginning of my journey with Voices of Hope. My mother's death is what inspired me to found this group, when the love and support of those around me helped me through such a difficult time.

It's been six years and it still feels like yesterday. I will always mourn the loss of my mother, but I can't help but feel that my single loss was the world's gain.  VOH has brought so many into the fight against cancer, and I am so very proud of all the work we have done. I think mom would be proud, too.

I miss you every day.....

Red Sox Drawing!

We're holding a drawing on May 18th. One lucky person will win the chance for themselves and a friend to sing with VOH at Fenway Park! On June 3rd, VOH will be taking the field at Fenway to sing the National Anthem before the Red Sox game. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity!

Tickets for the drawing at 1 for $10 or 3 for $25. You and your guest will both receive VOH shirts and a chance to rehearse with us before the big day. Contact Greg Chastain at [email protected] for tickets.

Spotlight: The Road to the Stage

In the final countdown to show day there is a flurry of activity around the stage. The theater smells of wet paint from the last minute coat on the scenery, and there are small piles of cables lying beside the rows of seating, waiting to wire up the very last footlights.

The dressing rooms have costumes hanging on racks, and make up scattered before the mirrors. Back stage in the hallways there are small clumps of performers running their dance moves, muttering lines under their breath, or doing lip trills to warm up. In the pit you can hear the instruments tuning, then breaking out into little bursts of song.

The theater teems with people, each doing their part to make things ready for the moment the music starts and the lights come up.

A show is like a living organism, one that can only survive when the cast, crew, and artistic team pour their efforts into bringing it to life. VOH is lucky, in that our members don't just give their all to the show, they also dedicate themselves to the mission that drives our performance. So much work has gone into Godspell, and we thank you all for every moment of labor, but more than that, we thank you for the heart you bring. The love, the support, and the never ending faith that we can make a difference. That hope is what lights up the stage, and breathes life into each production.

To all our technicians, our pit, our cast, our leaders--to all our members--we want to say thank you, and break a leg!

Many thanks to EAA for their support of VOH and Godspell!

Raise Your Voice With Ours!
Have you or a loved one been impacted by cancer? Want to sing along side us? Want to organize a fundraiser for us? Want to ask us to come sing at your fundraiser? Let us know!  We believe that each new voice brings us closer to the cure.

We appreciate your continued support as we aim to increase our fundraising goal every year. Our 2014 fundraising efforts allowed us to donate $62,000 to the Henri and Belinda Termeer Center For Targeted Therapies at Mass General Hospital. We couldn't do it without you!
