Metro Minnesota PREP:

The Metro Minnesota PREP met on September 12, 2013. This meeting started with discussion about upcoming local gatherings of interest, including the Bar Association and the Safe at Home Program meetings. The MLTA discussed statutes of concern and the recent Dodd-Frank Newsletter was reviewed. The remainder of the meeting revolved around a variety of issues regarding eRecording in various counties, document rejection issues, and an update on the ERERC Commission. PRIA's eRecording eXcellence Work Group announces release of "Security and Technology Video Companion Paper" for 30-day Review
PRIA's eRecording eXcellence Work Group announced the completion of the paper on Security and Technology which accompanies the video of the same name that was previewed at the 2013 PRIA Annual Conference in Minneapolis.
The paper has undergone multiple reviews and rewrites by a taskforce of the eRecording eXcellence Work Group and is now ready for 30-day comment.

PRIA 2014 Winter Symposium Slated for February
The 2014 Winter Symposium will be held February 26-28 at the Marriott Crystal City in Arlington, Va. ALTA NEWS: Title Action Network Passes Membership Milestone
The Title Action Network (TAN), the premier grassroots organization promoting the value of the land title industry, has recruited more than 6,000 members. The organization was launched in 2012. "We are extremely pleased with the growth and participation in TAN this year," said Michelle Korsmo, ALTA's chief executive officer. "TAN members continue to recruit land title professionals from around the country to help promote the value of the industry to legislators and regulators." TAN is also pleased to announce partnership with 36 state land title associations. State association partners include: Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Dixie Land (Georgia, Mississippi and Alabama), Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New England (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont and New Hampshire), New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming. "The participation from the state land title association has been exceptional," said Rob Chapman, ALTA's president.
