Shout Outs!

*  The Besnoff Family *

Tyler, age 9, and his family hosted the Stomp Out CVS Walk in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on April 12th.  The event was a huge success and honored Tyler's younger brother, Aaron, who is 6 years old, and has been a CVS sufferer since birth.  Donations are still coming in and have totaled over $2,500.00!
We appreciate the time and effort you put into holding this fundraiser and commend you on a job well done! Thank you Tyler for being an inspiration to all of us!

* The Lenhardt Family *

Tyler, age 9, has been busy raising $ for his 6 year old brother, Mikey, who suffers from CVS.  We featured his story in the April issue of Highlights and wanted to give you a Shout Out!
Thank you Tyler for all of your hard work. To date you have raised
$1213.00!  Fantastic job!

* Alyssa and Mom,
Jennifer Christensen

Thank you Alyssa for presenting CVS at your school to support International Awareness Day!  It's wonderful you were able to contact your local radio and cable stations to run public announcements to raise awareness! The full story and picture of Alyssa can be found in the Spring 2015 issue of our Code 'V' Newsletter.   Thank you Alyssa for educating your teachers and peers at school, and for bringing awareness to all of those around you who have never heard of this rare disorder!

CVSA
Challenge Contest

Thank you to everyone who sent in or posted on the CVSA Facebook page an idea for a challenge we could possibly do in the future to raise awareness and $ for our organization.  Our Board considered each idea and unfortunately we just didn't come up with one that sparked enough interest to run with at this time.

Please feel free to share your creative ideas with us via email, as we move into this summer and we will continue to read the entries that come in.  We may be able to start an appropriate campaign in the future and will be happy to consider all ideas!

We do ask that you provide a challenge that is simple, can appeal to both children and adults, will be entertaining, and has the potential to go viral utilizing social media.

Please send ideas to Ruth, our Program Director at:

Father/Son Hike planned on the Colorado Trail to raise awareness and $5,000.00 for CVS Research!
June 10, 2015 - 30 day tour

Hunter Stafford, age 19, and his Dad, Ed Stafford, are going to hike the entire Colorado Trail this summer to raise $ for the CVSA!  Hunter's CVS started at the age of 6 months, lasted until he was 12 years old and miraculously stopped occurring in the 7th grade.  His episodes lasted for 1 week and occurred every 6 weeks of his life.  During this time he endured severe migraine headaches and vomiting to the point of needing IV fluids every episode.  Hunter thought his episodes were gone forever until just recently when CVS struck again.

The hike will begin at Chatfield Reservoir in Denver, and will end in the town of Durango.  This trail stretches 486 miles.  We wish you the best of luck and Thank You!

Please visit Hunter's fundraising page at:
http://fundly.com/we-re-tired-of-puking to read more.

Hunter has also set up an Instagram account to promote this cause as well:  @hikenotpuke.
