Over $130,000 raised for homeowners in need
On Friday, October 4th, nearly 300 guests gathered at the Museum of History & Industry on Lake Union to celebrate the 4th Annual Beer & Wine Tasting fundraiser. That night, Rebuilding Together Seattle supporters raised more than $130,000 to help low income homeowners in need of critical home repairs, exceeding the 2012 event results by over $50,000!

Highlights from the evening included the 2012-2013 Volunteer of the Year Award, presented to David Kimelman (Safe at Home Program volunteer), and words from Program Recipient, Kim Brown. Kim shared about her experience receiving help from RTS, saying "Rebuilding Together helped me make a strong foundation for my home, so that I could make a strong foundation for my boys."

Thank you to all event sponsors, donors, attendees, and volunteers for making the 4th Annual Beer and Wine Tasting a resounding success!  RTS sends a special thank you to
Infiniti of Kirkland, who served as the Presenting Sponsor for the fourth consecutive year. RTS also thanks Event Sponsors, Goodman Real Estate, HomeStreet Bank and Nintendo, and Video Sponsor, Sierra Media.  To view photos from this special evening, please click here.

Homeowner Spotlight
Debbie, with her dog Luca, showing off her new porch!

Dolores and Debbie McGee are a mother and daughter living in West Seattle. Over twenty years ago, Debbie, now forty-eight, was in an accident that left her paralyzed from the waist down and with limited motor ability in her hands.  In recent months, Rebuilding Together Seattle volunteers rebuilt a sagging porch that was tearing the existing roof and separating from the ramp Debbie uses to access her home.  Debbie is now safe at her home, thanks to the generosity of our donors and volunteers.
Program Impact
This year, Rebuilding Together Seattle plans to help 112 families with the necessary repairs they need to stay safe and warm in their homes. Here is an update on our progress for the fiscal year (beginning July 1, 2013).

Annual Appeal Kick-Off!
Rebuilding Together Seattle will kick off its 2013-2014 Annual Appeal the week of November 25th, just in time for the Thanksgiving Holiday.  Please consider giving the gift of a warm and safe home to a neighbor in need this holiday season by supporting the work of Rebuilding Together Seattle! Winter can be a hard time for many low income homeowners in our area as they deal with expensive and outdated heat sources, leaky roofs, drafty windows, and broken doors. Through the support of Annual Appeal donors, Rebuilding Together Seattle is able to expand its programs to better address these needs.

If you are interested in learning more about the Annual Appeal, please contact Paige Schultz at [email protected].
