April Youth Services Newsletter, Part Two!

Hello everyone,

We are very excited to share with you all the great programs we have planned for the second half of April. Please scroll down and click on the event flyers for more information and to register. Or, you can visit our children's website by clicking here!

Also, please be sure to stop by the library from April 20th through the end of the month, as we are participating in a county-wide "Step into a Story" event. As we did last year, our children's room will be decorated with Mo Willems' characters, including the Pigeon and Elephant and Piggie!

We hope to see you soon!

Best,
Maryellen Liddy, Kate Mahoney, and Chris Kabshura

Save the Date!

Our therapy dogs will be visiting us again for Read to a Dog on Saturday, May 2nd at 11:00 am. This program is great for readers *and* pre-readers. Our friend Janie the Therapy Dog is resting up to see you then. Woof!
National Volunteer Week

We are so grateful for the help of all the volunteers who assist us at the library. Here's a photo of our school year volunteer Connor, who is a student at Denville's Celebrate the Children School. Connor visits us each week to help prepare crafts and shelve books. He's a big help to our Youth Services Department!

We will soon be looking for summer volunteers to help us with our Summer Reading Program. Volunteers must be entering grades 7 or higher in the fall of 2015. More information on summer volunteering will be available in mid-May.
Summer Reading Preview!

Summer Reading is right around the corner ... really! We have been hard at work all winter planning a fun program for our patrons.

Our Summer Reading Program will run from Monday, June 22nd (the day of our big Kickoff Concert with Kurt Gallagher) through Wednesday, August 5th, when we will close out the summer with Rizzo's Reptiles. Along the way, we will have visits from the LEGO robotics folks; Science Tellers; Ms. Heidi's Fairy Camp; Touch the Music; the Morris Museum; Ms. Mary's Pottery for Kids; Steve Woyce Magic; Robodyssey; Minecraft Engineering; the Traveling Lantern Theater Company; the Bubble Show; Rapunzel; and much, much more.

Our full summer calendar will be available in early June on our website, so be sure to check back then. What a fun summer we will have!
