Character breakdowns:

WINK MARTINDALE, JR. - 45-55 - Tall, Handsome, slick, must have great comic timing, and is a TV game show host. Considers himself a "Ladies' Man." Pampered. (Jon Hamm-type.)

BETH - 28-35 - Cute and VERY pregnant Mormon housewife and mom. Very conservative and opinionated. (Ellie Kemper-type)

JOE - 45-50 - Small but wiry, works for Fish and Game in Idaho. Used to be a Mormon. Always a helpful referee, but has a secret weird side. (Kevin Connolly- type)

SUE - 25-30 - Very mousy, petite and plain. Married to Tom, but is starting to worry about their life. (Carey Mulligan-type)

TOM - 30-35 - A real butch mechanic kind of guy, very fit. Just got out of jail. Gruff and has a chip on his shoulder. But he does love Sue. (Norman Reedus- type.)

BARB - 30-36 - Tall and thin, woman of color, a former pediatrician, now a homemaker. SWEET lesbian in love with her partner. (Sufe Bradshaw from Veep-type)

CHRIS - 28-36 - Short and curvy, can be woman of color, partner of BARB. Smart, strong, and funny-protective of BARB.  (America Ferrera-type)

KITTY - Floosie with a heart of gold - (already cast-will be played by Amy Rose)

The play is set in the future, where couples have to prove to a community panel that they are ready to have children. The process is filmed all over the country, and has become a popular game show. Couples present their case, along with endorsements from their families, and the community board votes on their fate. Problems arise when the board disagrees on what makes a good parent.
