Spotlight

IAIN ODLIN, lighting guru extraordinaire and PEER award nominee, is now a 2-time Snowlion Rep veteran, having shone his talent on A Child's Guide to Innocence and most recently The Freaks Club.

Iain Odlin went to his first audition in 1986, walking into the theater at the same moment a very angry man stormed out. Puzzled but undaunted, he continued inside and was greeted with the question, "Want to be our lighting guy?" Sometimes opportunity knocks the door off its hinges.

Since then, Iain has been 'lighting guy' for over a dozen companies and is pleased to now count Snowlion Repertory among them. He also currently works with Good Theater, Naya's Trance, Dark Follies, the Stone Pinheads Ensemble and Vivid Motion and is Technical Director for St. Lawrence Arts.

In his occasional moments of spare time, he sleeps. A bit.  Snowlion Rep is darn lucky to have him, wide awake or not.  Come see his latest work in The Elephant Piece, opening  April 11.

THE ELEPHANT PIECE
opens April 11

The Elephant Piece
is making its New England premiere in Portland, Maine!

Running April 11 through 20 at the Portland Stage Studio Theater, The Elephant Piece

by Darryl Curry follows the exploits of a vaudvillian band of "Hackers" lusting after the last elephant on earth.  The gleeful and destructive greed of the singing and dancing Hackers collides with the unconditional love of a child and the innate wisdom of Elephant.  This musical fable is a funny, biting satire more relevant than ever as the majestic elephant once again faces unrelenting devastation by poachers.

Directed by Al D'Andrea with  musical direction by Jim Colby and choreography by Betsy Dunphy, the marvelous cast includes David Arthur Bachrach, Alan McLucas, Janie Downey Maxwell, Autumn Pound, Joe Swenson, Gabriel Walker, Bartley Mullin, John Kreutzberger, and Timothy Hartel.

"Ionesco meets Greenpeace in this effectively disturbing absurdist fable...an eerie, surreal vaudeville song-and-dance revue...this show sings when at its nastiest."
Downtown Express

"The minstrel show format allows for a real variety of scenes, and the company has devised some that are deliciously bizarre...packs a powerful punch!"

SPECIAL BENEFIT FOR
THE
ELEPHANTS OF HOPE!

Maine has elephants! And they eat a lot!!!

Snowlion Rep wants to help, so we're thrilled to announce that we will be giving a benefit performance of
The Elephant Piece for Rosie and Opal, current residents of the wonderful new facility in Hope, Maine, that caters exclusively to their needs.

Speaking of catering, they really do eat a lot, so we hope you'll consider joining us on Wednesday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m. for this very special performance.  Proceeds from the show go directly to the Elephants of Hope, so mark your calendar now and help Maine's largest residents live large and in comfort and style!
