Consider Signing Up 
Online for Classes

Creating time in your schedule can be one of the hardest parts about getting to class. Consider signing up for classes in advance online. While this is not required, many students report that it helps them make a commitment in their week to come.

Also, Shala teachers see who has signed up in advance. If you are on the list, we can consider what we know about your practice, your challenges, and the poses you have been working on as we prepare for class. 

There's even a mobile MindBody app that you can download to your phone.

And don't worry, if for some reason you can't make it to class after signing up, you are not charged for the class.

Octavia and Tamarie will co-teach this three day intensive, inspired by the their personal experiences with Senior Iyengar Teachers and their studies with the Iyengar family in India. During the intensive, students will benefit from more personalized adjustments and feedback with two instructors present. The longer classes will allow for a more profound experience of the yoga postures, their effects, and the philosophy underlying yoga. 

 

Over three days, students will be exposed to a wide range of sequences and poses, including one session on restorative poses and pranayama. There will also be the opportunity to ask questions during a Q & A. We look forward to sharing our dedication to practice and inner awareness over the weekend.

Study with a teacher from the Iyengar Institute in India!

Join us as Devki Desai returns for her second visit to Yoga Shala. She has studied with the Iyengars for over 30 years and is a Senior Teacher at the Iyengar Institute in Pune, India. A direct disciple of BKS, Prashant, and Geeta Iyengar, Devki synthesizes the teaching of all three Iyengars with warmth and intelligence. 

REQUIREMENTS for attendance: Have practiced yoga for at least 1 year. Able to practice headstand and shoulderstand. If you have an injury or other challenge, you must know how to work with it on your own.

Women's Iyengar Yoga Retreat 
in Northern California
with Octavia and Athena

Thursday, July 31 - Sunday, August 3



Join us for our 6th Annual Iyengar Yoga Women's Retreat! The retreat is a long weekend of practice, nature and relaxation at the Ratna Ling Buddhist retreat center on the stunning California Coast. Octavia and Athena will lead both asana (physical postures) and pranayama (breath control) classes in the Iyengar Yoga method. Ratna Ling offers hiking trails, redwood groves, and beautiful places to rest and relax outdoors. For full details visit the Yoga Shala website.

Cost: $825, which includes:

- 8 yoga sessions

- 3 nights accommodations (private room in a 2-person cottage)

- All meals (Thurs dinner - Sunday brunch)

- Yoga room with heated floor and vaulted ceilings

New Parking Plan Coming Soon

The new parking plan will leave more spaces for visitors to the building, 
because most building employees will have to park off-site. 

When you visit Shala, avoid any reserved spots. Please park in one of the visitor spaces (shown below in GREEN) to ensure that you are not booted or towed.
