RIDGWAY RAILROAD MUSEUM
HOSTS WORK WEEK JUNE 1-5
Ridgway Railroad Museum's annual Railroad Restoration Week will be held June 1 - 5 this year.
Local railroad history enthusiasts will join with railfans from around the nation to work on the museum's collection of railcars and buildings.
"We always need help with our preservation mission," said museum president Karl Schaeffer, "and anyone wishing to join us during this work week will be welcome. You can help all week, or for part of a day. We'll be laying a new display track as we get ready for the re-creation of RGS steam locomotive 36 in 2017, as well as continuing our restoration of Denver and Rio Grande Business Car C, and if the weather is good we might get to paint the Guston depot on Red Mountain. The more helpers we have, the more we can accomplish. In past years we have completed a phenomenal amount of work in these one-week sessions - for example, one year we completely replaced all of the exterior wood on the caboose, put on a new roof, and painted it, all in one week. The museum provides lunch each day and most of the tools, so all the workers need to bring is enthusiasm."
Although walk-ins are welcome, anyone planning to help should contact Schaeffer at 626-4373 for planning purposes.

Starting June 3rd at the Ouray Elks
It's summertime, and that means Wednesday night Bingo at the Ouray Elks lodge.
Games will be held at 7 PM every week, starting June 3rd.

We'll have light concession refreshments available from local students, and the Progressive game is always exciting. These games are open to the public, and we hope to see a lot of our old friends, as well as new faces."
