Jill Cannady, Sybil Informed
2010, Encaustic on panel, 30" x 30"
The Board of Trustees of the Museum of Art - DeLand, Florida, cordially invite you to attend the
Opening Night Reception for the exhibition

Jill Cannady: Idea & Medium on Friday, January 17, 2014, opening in the Museum's main galleries at 600 N. Woodland Blvd. between 5 and 6:30 p.m. and in the Museum's downtown satellite galleries at 100 N. Woodland Blvd. between 6:30 and 8 p.m.

As one of Florida's most recognized artists, Jill Cannady helped establish Florida as a legitimate contributor to the national arts scene in the 70's and 80's. Idea & Medium, a semi-retrospective of Cannady's encaustic and cold wax paintings, oils, drawings and sculptures, deals with human and animal figures giving expressive form to mankind's dreams, aspirations, moods and metaphysical implications.  Every painting of Cannady's is a painstakingly conceived and meticulously plotted enigma that invites the viewer to ponder and interpret.

There is no charge to members of the Museum of Art - DeLand for the opening reception on the 17th of January; admission for nonmembers is $10. To read more, click on the exhibition link Jill Cannady: Idea & Medium
