Plan Ahead for Documentation Needed

Now is the time to prepare your documentation packet.

  • Do you have proof of your Child Development Permit and an education plan with this year's courses listed?
  • If you are a returning applicant taking Professional Growth Hours (Tracks 2B and 5A), you will need a Professional Growth Action Plan in lieu of an education plan.
  • If you are taking classes now for CARES, your transcripts will have to wait, and your last pay stub obviously hasn't arrived yet. But now is the time to request an employment verification letter. Did you have more than one employer this year? If so, request a letter from your former employer as well.
  • You should already have had or scheduled an Environmental Assessment if you need one (returning applicants in privately-funded child care settings only). If you still need an assessment or have any questions about documentation, please call your CARES liaison or the main line at
    (916) 369-0191.
Last Chance to Apply

Have you attended an Orientation yet? Have your friends and colleagues? Share the word with them that anyone interested in receiving a stipend must attend an orientation and complete a 2013 application on site. Campus Orientations are going on now. The last chance to apply will be December 11, 2013.

Visit our calendar of events for times and locations. Please note: All stipends are based on funding availability. Call (916) 369-0191 to register.
