Whether you're planning to speed-write your novel in a month (you know who you are!) or have finished a labor of years, here's your chance to get published! RiverRun Bookstore announces its Piscataqua Press Publishing Contest, a chance for three hardworking and talented writers to shepherd their work into print. Three prizes will be awarded:

•   First Prize: A publishing contract worth $1,500 with RiverRun's own imprint, Piscataqua Press, which covers the full standard cost of publication. (This is our standard contract, the details of which can be seen on our website, piscataquapress.com.)                                                                
•   Second Prize: A voucher worth $1,000 toward publication with Piscataqua Press.                                                                
•  Third Prize: A voucher worth $500 toward publication with Piscataqua Press.

Here are the rules:

1.      Submit up to 15 pages of your novel in a Word document. This may be the first chapter or two, or it can be drawn from any section of your novel. DO NOT include your name or contact info anywhere in the file itself, although you should be sure to indicate the title of the novel on the first page.                      
2.       Submit your work sample as an attachment via e-mail by midnight December 31, 2013, at [email protected]. Be sure to include all your contact info and the title of your novel in the e-mail itself.                                                                      
3.       All manuscripts will be assigned a code number to ensure a blind consideration process. All manuscript samples will be reviewed by staff of Piscataqua Press and RiverRun Bookstore. Finalists will be selected from among the submissions and then asked to submit their complete novels for the second phase of the selection process.                           
4.       Winners of the three prizes will be chosen from among the finalists and announced in March of 2014.
