Snow Bunny League - it's a wrap! |
Just the facts m'am ... the field was divided into 3 flights based on course handicap and the winners ($15 gift card from The Super Store at Haggin Oaks) were:
Flight A - Vicki (sandbagger) Philpott shot 80 for a net 66 (glad we weren't wagering)
Flight B - Karen Zamarripa shot 97 for a net 69
Flight C - Penni Hansen shot 113 for a net 75
Closest to the pin on all par 3's won a round of golf at Teal Bend. I have to admit the pin placements on #12 and #16 were pretty mean!

Good news: the deadline for signing up for our Health and Yoga Seminar with 9-Hole Casual Play at Woodcreek Golf Course
this Sunday, March 16th has been extended! The new deadline is March 15th. We hope that you will sign up and invite your golfer friends, both men and women.
This promises to be an informative and fun day! EWGA members may sign up their partners at the member rate. Also, feel free to invite any friends who are not signed up to drop in for the $25 Carotid Ultrasound Examination being provided by Clarence Ing, MD. The usual cost of the examination is $80 to $150 so this a deal. If you are at risk for heart disease or a stroke, this examination can help motivate you to make lifestyle changes to avoid these serious health problems!

Fast Trackers invite you to join!
Want to improve your golf game quickly? If you have not yet established a handicap, or if you want to lower your 35+handicap this season, consider joining Fast Trackers.
Our program is perfect for all women wanting to get "serious" about this game. We already have 8 enthusiastic participants gearing up for our first practice session Monday evening at Haggin Oaks on March 17 at 5:15 p.m. We meet the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month in the early evenings from March through July. There's a lot going on right now, so you may have missed the notice for the Short Game Clinic at Lincoln Hills ... it will be on Saturday, March 22 from 10am to 1:15pm, and taught by Steve Treadway - one of the most popular instructors in the area!
Lower your scores by making more accurate shots from 80 yards and in. Our intensive clinic for established golfers reviews the fundamentals of chipping, pitching, bunkers and putter. Developing a consistent pre-shot routine also emphasized. Levels 3,4

Starting April 9th at Arcade Creek (Haggin Oaks), please join us for 9 holes of golf. Tee times start at 5:30. You do not have to play regularly, just come out when you can. No registration is required, but please let Judy Mayes know if you are planning to play. We only have room for 16 players and this is a very popular event. The "early bird catches the worm", so the sooner you let her know every week that you plan to play, the more assured you are of a spot!

As usual, EWGA Sacramento will have a booth at the Expo so that we can tell everyone how great we are!! We need help running the booth for 2 hour shifts between noon and 6pm on all three days (Friday, April 25- Sunday, April 27). We hope get 4 people in the booth for each shift. If you can volunteer for any of these times, please send an email to Fern Lukka, [email protected].
If you are planning on coming out to the Expo anyway, why not spend some time in the EWGA booth!!
