All About Cataracts Lunch and Learn

Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) will host a free Lunch and Learn seminar on cataracts Friday, June 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the CMH Community Rooms located at 1500 N. Oakland, Bolivar. Information will be presented by board certified ophthalmologist Chetan Soni, M.D. with CMH Eye Specialty Center.

Cataracts affect more than 20.5 million Americans over the age of 40. Cataracts occur when the natural lens in the eye becomes cloudy, making it harder for light to enter the eye. Cataracts typically occur naturally as a person ages, and they often cause blurry vision, glare and rings of light known as halos – sometimes at night and while driving.

Soni will discuss treatments for cataracts including LenSx Laser assisted cataract surgery, a breakthrough technology of laser assisted cataract surgery to improve the precision of several of the most critical steps in cataract surgery.

Dr. Soni  attended medical school at Medical College Baroda, India and completed his residency at University of Missouri—Columbia School of Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

A light lunch will be served and reservations are requested.
