You are cordially invited to Celebrate Outdoors in the Garden State at NJSACC's Annual Meeting and Celebration on Wednesday, May 20th from 10am-12pm followed by lunch and a special culminating event.

 

This event will be held at NJSACC's Office at the First Baptist Church of Westfield, 170 Elm Street, Westfield, NJ 07090. 

Registration is FREE, but extremely limited. We expect this event to reach capacity quickly, so please do not delay in registering!

Celebrate with us from now until Friday, May 22nd as NJSACC kicks off the Celebrate Afterschool: Outdoors in the Garden State! campaign!

 

Celebrate Afterschool: Outdoors in the Garden State is an annual celebration of all that the Garden State has to offer. NJSACC encourages afterschool programs to get outside and enjoy, explore, and play! 

 

How can you participate?

Simple! From now until Friday, May 22nd, engage kids by having fun outdoors! Below are activities and event planning guides to help you get started!

 

Are you noticing great outdoor play happening in your program?

Great! Take a picture and post it on Facebook or Twitter using hashtag #CelebrateNJAfterschool

Create an account with Facebook or Twitter and then, post your picture and hashtag on your wall. Visit Facebook or Twitter to register and get started!

 

Already using social networks in your program?

Great! Share your outdoor adventures with us all month long and until May 15th, 2015. NJSACC will then compile all of the photos we see and share them back with all of you, so make sure you've gotten permission to share the photos! :)

NJSACC has created a resource booklet for providers that lists easy, inexpensive activities that can connect children with nature in categories like Trees and Leaves and Nature Art. There are lists of field trips and enrichment program resources for providers as well as nature fun facts and nature experiments that can be done in only a few minutes.

  

Many programs decide to organize larger events to involve families and the community. NJSACC developed an Event Planning kit to guide afterschool programs on how to Celebrate Afterschool with a sample Press release and invitation letters for community leaders and celebration ideas.
