Long ago my people lived by the Medicine Wheel
and we walked in balance with all living things. Plants, Animals, Elements and colors of nature were woven into our daily lives. Everything that is inside of us comes from Nature. Nature is calling us back to the ways that will realign us with our Mother the Earth, and bring balance back to Nature and all Beings...
Let us go outside and remember!!

THE LINEAGE of these teachings were handed down and taught to me by my Elder Grandfather H'sa. H'sa spend 12 years living and studying with his Elder and our Tribal  Grandmother Twylah Nitsch who traveled all over the country with these teachings at the time of her life's journey. When she passed over she handed her Altar to her granddaughter Jamie Sams, a well known author of many books, including the world renowned "Medicine Cards". Grandmother Twylah received her training from our tribal Council of Grandmothers, which in the old days was always passed down to the chosen Clan Mothers.
My Elder H'sa spoke his language until he was sent to boarding school where he was first taught the English language. He was 12 years old when he was taken from his mother and tribe to go to boarding school. He vowed to return someday and bring back these teachings. After many years of hardship, H'sa returned to his people and danced the Medicine of the Bear almost 30 years until he entered his 60's. He is an instrumental elder offering his volunteer time to the Peace Village in Oregon and has worked with troubled youth for many years. I began my training with H'sa almost 20 years ago, and I consider myself deeply blessed to be one of his Chiitu's (students).

Anyone who chooses this course will learn how to Stand anywhere on Mother Earth and be in the Center of all things:
- We learn the power animals of the all the directions, the medicines of the plants and minerals and how to use them for healing.
- We learn the power times of prayer and the best times to gather medicines, the times when they are the most powerful.
- We use stones to represent the teachings of the directions, animals, plants, elements and colors, and where they all line up on the Medicine Wheel, which is a physical map or tool for living our lives in balance with all things.
- We learn that everything has its place, its origin and its purpose on the Medicine Wheel.
- We learn through this teaching how all things are in proper relation with one another.
- We learn to live in a circle rather than a straight line of imbalance.
- We walk away from this teaching feeling a sense of connection to all living things and with the true understanding of why we say "All My Relations".
- We feel a sense of responsibility like never before to take care of our Mother the Earth.
- We learn to feel that we ourselves are Nature, and now we want to take care of Nature with a deeper understanding of HOW to do that.
- We learn what Nature and our Mother the Earth need from us now in this time, so that Mother will heal and recover from the damage that has been done through our imbalance.
- We become Clear beings as we learn through the Medicine Wheel that every living thing has its purpose and we come to understand what that purpose is.

About the Northern River Bears:
We are a group of inter-tribal native americans centered in Northern California. We are a C503 non profit group, gratefully accepting donations to continue to help our California Tribes in restoring our spiritual culture through the Sacred Medicine of the Bear. We dance for the healing of all peoples. We are now in the time of our prophecy of the Bear which started in 1987 and ends in 2039. Our people believe that through this Bear Medicine we will achieve the prophecy seen by our Elders: we will restore all Indigenous peoples, Nations, races, colors and creeds to balance, and restore our direct connection to Star Nation in this new time of Galactic awareness. We will then manifest a new world.
A world without ugliness. We travel all over Northern California and Southern Oregon and offer healings through the Bear Medicine to all who come. We also do house calls and hospital calls. All are welcome to join us for the Dances and receive this healing from the Sacred Medicine of the Bear, in the name of Peace and Unity.
Shii Tuii's husband, Kenneth David Chadbourne of Wailaki/Wyott descent. His name given by Grandfather H'sa is Hokan Panuta Dvathicon Atuk, which translates to 7 Bears Lightning Fire.

The 13 Moons Medicine Wheel Course Outline
There are four doors of the Medicine Wheel Teachings.
Doors 3 and 4 are more extensive and will each be covered over 2 sessions. The course is a total of 6 sessions.
THROUGHOUT THE COURSE:
- Each person will be asked to do morning and evening prayers outside, and keep a journal of what nature is doing each time.
- Each person will be asked to make spirit plates before each meal and offer the food to the Earth to give thanks for what Mother has provided.
- Water is prayed over each day before we drink.
- A specific meditation will be taught that each person will be encouraged to do at least once a week.
- Each person is encouraged to pray during their individual power time.
- Each person will need a piece of large white paper (about 20x20) and colored pencils to draw out the Medicine Wheel as we go through the teachings.
