Happy New Year! And thank you to all of you who responded so generously to our appeal in December.  With your help Ernestina-Morrissey is on the way to a VERY happy 2014!  Captain Harold Burnham's final assessment of the work needed for the ship to return to sailing and estimate of the costs to accomplish it are completed.  Although the numbers have come in higher than described in Julius's letter  the good news is that the result of the work will be a ship with Coast Guard Ocean certification.  This will open a world of opportunity for Ernestina-Morrissey's next life.  Check the website often for the latest news and fundraising opportunity.  And check the video links below for the reasons this is so important!

Inspiration!

Why is SEMA committed to see Ernestina-Morrissey sail again? Her amazing history is inspiring.  And sailing her can inspire.

Just ask Sarah Jane Mulvey.  After Sarah volunteered for the WWF last fall she wrote in her blog about a 3 day voyage on Ernestina 10 years ago. Inspired by that voyage she is now a candidate for "stowaway" on the      C. W. Morgan's 38th Voyage voyage this summer.  She explains that inspiration in her video application.

Just ask William Bogusky who recently published a wonderful video on YouTube of a 2001 trip from New Bedford to Boston.

Other video resources are surfacing all the time.  Here are four reels of the 1932 Effie M. Morrissey voyage to Cape York, Greenland to erect a monument to Admiral Robert Peary

Please help Ernestina-Morrissey continue to inspire the next generation.  Contact Us.

To ensure you get notifications in your news feed simply mouse over the "Liked" button on the Schooner Ernestina-Morrissey Association PAGE and select "Show in News Feed." and "get notifications" I'm sure if we paid Facebook there would be a way to avoid you're having to do this.
