"MEN ON FILM: How Media Depictions of Black MSM Impact HIV Infection Rates" will be the topic of a community forum to be presented by the Los Angeles Centers for Alcohol and Drug Abuse. A panel discussion will explore the role film, television, rap music and other forms of popular media play in the construction and maintenance of social and cultural attitudes toward Black MSM, and how those attitudes may influence behaviors that can lead to HIV infection. For more info and to  RSVP, click here 

 

World AIDS Day Event: The Criminalization of HIV, FREECity Logo

The City will sponsor The Williams Institutes' panel discussion, The Criminalization of HIV. Currently, 33 states including California have criminal statutes that make it illegal to expose another person to HIV. How do these laws criminalize people living with HIV/AIDS? WENDE Museum: From Red State to Golden State Film, FREE

The City of West Hollywood in collaboration with the Wende Museum presents a preview screening of the documentary From Red State to Golden State: Soviet Jewish Immigration to the City of Angels, An Oral History.  The documentary follows several Jewish families who left the former Soviet Union to settle in Los Angeles during the 1970s and 1980s. Free admission and free parking validation.

LA County Arts Commission Grants

The Commission contracts about 200 arts organizations annually through the Organizational Grant Program (OGP) to provide arts services. Applications are accepted annually between the months from October to December. For more info, visit here. 

 

City LogoRFP-Public Art Consultant - The City of West Hollywood is seeking  written proposals from qualified individuals and firms to work as a Public Art Consultant/Project Coordinator to provide administration and management of the public art project for the West Hollywood Park Phase 2 Master Plan Implementation.
