FINAL SPEECH MEET:  Congratulations to the following students for their performances at the final speech meet of the year:  Josie Yaekel and Jordyn Priebe 1st place duet, Audrey Beyersdorfer 1st place serious monologue, and Lauren Cerbin 1st place humorous monologue.  Congratulations again to these four girls for their performances at the meet, and to everyone who participated in speech this year.
TRACK SEASON:  The first two track meets are in the books, and our team(s) are off to a good start.  The following students finished in 1st or 2nd place in a variety of events at the April 14th meet:  Tony Holdener, Abigail Lanter, Megan Herzing, Ben Renner, Matthew Feder, Andrew Safarian, Patrick Hayden, Brady Voss, Sarah Foley, Avery Irwin, Jimmy Osborn, Alec Koesterer, Sophia Koesterer, Brooks Hackney, Lauren Cerbin, Hope Reeves, Veronica Schroeder, Katherine Fraser, Katie Wemhoener, Jordyn Priebe, John Lipinski, Erick Gosebrink, Christine Fink.  Congratulations to everyone!
WINE AND CHEESE RAISE THE PADDLE EVENT:  You should be receiving information on this event scheduled for Wednesday, April 29th at 7:00 P.M. in the Parish Center.  Please join us for this event, as all proceeds from the night will help to cover the cost of the STEM lab.  If you are unable to attend that evening, but would still like to contribute to the campaign please contact Lisa Elbe at [email protected] or through the school office.  Thank you in advance for you continued support of St. Teresa School.
INDIAN DAY:  The 3rd grade students had their annual Indian Day this past Thursday.  The students clearly enjoyed the event, and were actively engaged throughout the day.  This is a creative way of bring education to life, and one that will continue to be encouraged throughout our curriculum.  The addition of the "living museum" by the 2nd grade teachers and the Polar Express Day by the Kindergarten and 1st grade teachers have given our students experiences that were both educational and memorable.  I would like to offer a special thank you to Ms. Pritchett for promoting the event, Mrs. Pawlow for chairing, and all of the volunteers who made the event possible.
VOLUNTEER MASS:  This week at Mass we recognized our many volunteers for their continued support.  As I stated after Mass, St. Teresa School could not survive without the support we receive from so many people.  While it would be impossible to ever list everyone who volunteers for the many programs we have, I do want to extend my sincere appreciation on behalf of myself, our staff, and most importantly our students to everyone who shares their time and talents with us.
SAFETY PATROL'S CARDINAL GAME:  The 8th grade safety patrols attended the Cardinal game Wednesday night.  The students received their free tickets compliments of AAA.  Everyone had a great time, cheered loudly, and brought home a winner.  It was a fun evening, and a great way to say thank you to our patrols for all of their hard work.
FIELD DAY:  Friday, April 24th is Field Day.  The students will be given their team assignments next week, and the event begins with lunch at 11:30.  Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to work the event, and to Danya Artimisi and Katie Littlejohn for chairing the event.
STAA PIZZA PICK-UP-  Pizza pick-up will be next Friday, April 24th, immediately following school.  Please make sure to make every effort to pick up the pizzas at this time.

Crystal Fuehne was a 21 year old college student at SIUC when her life changed in an instant. Crystal will share her personal experience of how a permanent injury changed her life. She will share how someone else's personal choice led to a permanent disability. Through a compelling firsthand testimony, you will learn about the consequences of injuries and how injuries can happen to anyone and are preventable. This sobering, yet motivational message urges everyone to take personal responsibility and make safe choices.

Piano Lessons
Does your child love music and want to learn how to play piano? Studies show that playing a musical instrument can enhance performance in other school subjects such as Mathematics and English. Learning to play the piano is a gift which lasts a lifetime.

I currently have a limited number of lesson slots available at St. Teresa School, before school on Tuesdays or during the 3rd lunch recess on Mondays or Tuesdays. There are also a couple of openings after school at my home studio in Shiloh/Belleville.

If you would like to discuss lessons for your child, please call me as soon as possible on (618)-239-0122, text me on (618)-980-5870, or email me at [email protected].  Spaces are limited!

I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Gill Cerbin
