Detail of the Topics

3.     "Concerning Divine Wisdom in the Creation of Birds" - This lecture is from Dr Kamran's current translation work at Darul Qasim regarding a treatise of Imam al-Ghazali wherein he observes birds and marvels at the divine wisdom (hikmah) that Allah has put in the bird.

4.      "Mirror, Mirror on the Wall: Muslim Youth Identity" - This lecture deals with the identity crisis that many youth have regarding who they are as an American, who they are as a Muslim, etc. This will be a short talk followed by more of an interactive session and discussion between Dr. Kamran Riaz and the youth audience. Topics to be discussed incl

ude: how to maintain an Islamic identity in
school, prioritizing goals in life, peer pressure, using social media, etc.

**Alternate Topic: "Lessons of Light from the Dark Knight" - Dr. Kamran has done this session for college students before, but basically this is a "tafseer" of the famous recent Batman trilogy movies, wherein Dr. Kamran used the movie to highlight Islamic lessons and teachings. It's well received for a youth-only audience, since the kids have seen the movie, and it seems more "relevant" to them rather than a traditional halaqah.

6.     "Balancing the Body, Mind and Spirit"- a discussion on how we can balance the three components that make us human, and how we can keep these in balance to become better Muslims.

All Sessions will be Held at the ICCA Facility
Islamic Community Center of Augusta (ICCA) 465 Old Evans Road, Augusta, GA 30907
