CRA Hires Diane Davis as Executive Director

Diane Davis, CRA Executive Director

The CRA Board of Directors is thrilled to announce the hiring of Diane Davis as the new Executive Director of the organization.

Diane is well known for her diverse experience in the recycling industry, having spent over 20 years in the field working in both the private and public sectors. Most recently, Diane worked on business development for Unified Recovery Group as the Carolinas Area Manager. Previous to working in the private sector, Diane was the Solid Waste Director for Stanly County and a Senior Environmental Specialist in Mecklenburg County.

In addition, Diane has an impressive amount of experience with solid waste and recycling organizations. Diane was the first Executive Director of the Southeast Recycling Development Council (SERDC), she serves as a Director for the NC Chapter of SWANA and co-chairs the Waste Reduction and Recycling Committee and, most importantly, Diane has been a member and active supporter of the CRA since 1991. Diane lives with her husband, Hank, near Oak Island, NC.

Diane can be contacted at diane@cra-recycle.org or (704) 467-7774.

Please join us in welcoming Diane to the helm of the Carolina Recycling Association.

Jenn Cooper Joins the CRA Staff

When you called the CRA Office, renewed your CRA membership, or checked in at the annual conference, chances are you had the pleasure of working with Anna Shirley at some point. Anna served the CRA for two and a half years as the Office Manager and recently left to pursue an Office Manager position with a medical company. We appreciate all the diligent and careful work that Anna gave to the organization and wish her the best in her new position.

The CRA is fortunate to have pulled Jenn Cooper on board as our part time Office Manager. Jenn has worked with several State Recycling Organizations in the Southeast and comes well equipped to handle the day-to-day operational needs of the CRA. Jenn has a degree in communications from Furman University and currently lives in Greenville, SC with her husband Robin and their dog Dewey, who is named after Miles Davis.

Jenn can be reached at the CRA office at 877-972-0007 or jenn@cra-recycle.org.

Happy America Recycles Day!

As the nation celebrates the only nationally recognized day dedicated to promoting recycling, the CRA would like to wish all of our members a Happy America Recycles Day.  We thank everyone for all you do throughout the year to make the recycling industry strong in the Carolinas.

Across the Carolinas, people are signing the pledge to recycle and CRA Executive Director Diane Davis is doing the same: "I offer my personal renewed commitment to our mission of advancing waste reduction and recycling in the Carolinas to the membership and ask for the same from each of them."

You can join Diane in renewing your commitment by visiting the America Recycles Day website to take the pledge, find resources to promote recycling to your customers and citizens and to celebrate our vibrant and growing industry.
