 On April 10, 2015, HETS celebrated its first ever HETS Student Leadership Showcase in New York City at Borough of Manhattan Community College. More than 40 students participated from institutions like: Borough of Manhattan Community College, Lehman College, Berkeley College, Bergen Community College, Queensborough Community College and Hostos Community College, and took advantage of this event celebrated for the first time on the north east region.
The main purpose of this event was to promote free of charge access to student services online provided by HETS that can support their academic goals and share with them topics about how to use technology to maximize their resources. Those services were presented by Ms. Yubelkys Montalvo, HETS Executive Director, who also invited students to be part of the HETS Student Advisory Committee to work hand in hand with the Committee established in Puerto Rico, and encouraged them to submit proposals of any innovative project developed by them to showcase it in future students' events and encourage others to do the same.
