designLAb hosts five receptions per year with the generous support of Charles Cohen and the PDC. Approximately 10-15 galleries have open receptions during the evening. Highlights for November include Barzloff, Molly Larkey, Scarpa's venetian glass sculptures and of course the the Tom of Finland exhibit at MOCA PDC next door. More info here. Colibri Competition, FREE

The competition, which is open to young artists between the ages of 5 and 21 years or age, will take place
on November 16 &17 and 23 & 24 in Plummer Park's Fiesta Hall.

The MOCA store hosts San Francisco's Honey Soundsystem to celebrate the record release of the unknown gay porn soundtracks by legendary 1980's San Francisco disco producer, Patrick Cowley that were never released outside of their use in the 1980's porn films of Los Angeles porn director Jon Colletti of Fox Studio. The museum extends its hours for guests to view Bob Mizer & Tom of Finland while Honey Soundsystem DJs provide an outdoor audio-visual program related to the unique cross section of Colletti's erotica and the late synthesizer wizard Patrick Cowley. Hosted with the support of the City of West Hollywood's Arts and Cultural Affiairs Commission, on World AIDS Day, also known as Day With(out) Art, MOCA invites you to a special panel discussion on the artistic and cultural significance of Bob Mizer & Tom of Finland. Join Dennis Bell, President of the Bob Mizer Foundation, Durk Dehner, President of the Tom of Finland Foundation, as well as artists Richard Hawkins and John Sonsini, for this timely conversation moderated by MOCA Curator Bennett Simpson. LA County Arts Commission Grants

The Commission contracts about 200 arts organizations annually through the Organizational Grant Program (OGP) to provide arts services. Applications are accepted annually between the months from October to December. For more info, visit here. 

 

RFP-Public Art Consultant - The City of West Hollywood is seekingCity Logo  written proposals from qualified individuals and firms to work as a Public Art Consultant/Project Coordinator to provide administration and management of the public art project for the West Hollywood Park Phase 2 Master Plan Implementation.
