Spring / Summer 2013 Volume of "Antiphospho...What??"
Greetings!

The Spring / Summer 2013 volume of our quarterly newsletter, "Antiphospho...What??" is ready to be downloaded. You can download it at the following link: http://www.apsfa.org/docs/APSFAVol27SprSum13.pdf

The next volume will be coming out mid November 2013.

Please let us know if there are any topics that you'd like our Medical Advisers to cover in their articles. We try to request topics that people are emailing about or that are discussed on our the forum. So if there's anything you'd like to see, please let us know and we'll pass it along to the medical advisers.

We are still in need of patient stories (esp about Men and Teens / Children), recipes, poems, related book reviews, and anything else you think would be of interest for upcoming newsletters. (book reviews, poems, recipes, articles written by family members, etc.) Please submit articles to the following email address: [email protected] .

Please follow our current guidelines when submitting an article:
Send your story/article to  [email protected]
Patient stories and most articles should be approx 500-750 words long and contain a title
Articles should be written at a 5th-8th grade reading level
Please try to include a picture when submitting a patient story
Patient stories should read like an autobiography-generally from diagnosis to present time, but it doesn't have to

Please use previous patients stories as your guideline. They can be found here: http://www.apsfa.org/newsletters.html.

If you have an idea and are not sure if it would fit, please feel free to contact us through our contact page on the website, or email us using the email address below. We are open to any suggestions. Without your help we would not be able to include an APS patient's story in each of our newsletters.

We could also use articles written by medical professionals or medical students on APS & APS related topics, like Lupus. Please contact us if you are interested. This is a good opportunity for you to get your name out there.

Please remember to check our website for any changes at the following link:  http://www.apsfa.org/new.htm

June Fundraiser: Dragonfly Earbud Headphones

  Earbuds

During the month of June anyone who makes a donation of $35.00 or more to the APSFA will receive a pair of adorable dragonfly earbud headphones.

As you may know, the dragonfly is the official symbol we have chosen to represent Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome much like the butterfly symbolizes Lupus.

Donations must be made through the donate button on our website using paypal or else by check using the donation coupon on page 8 of this newsletter.  Donations must be received or postmarked by June 30 to qualify for the earbuds and please only one per household.

The headphones are very nice quality and feature adorable dragonflies on each ear bud as well as one on the cord. There are 3 different sized, flexible, acrylic inserts which makes them customizable for different sized ears. The earbuds also come with a zippered case with a key ring attached for convenient storage. The cord is 30 inches and the headphone jack is a standard 3.5 mm-so they are perfect for MP3 players and most smart phones!

Twins: Strokes At 26 Within Months Of Each Other
Twins

Twin women living in Arizona suffering strokes within nine months of each other is rare enough; add to that the fact that the women are only 26 years old, and the story is just incredible. (Again, these were dismissed as migraines at first.)
