Commons Connections

January 2014

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said "Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'."

As we approach the King Holiday, I hope that you will consider making this a year of action and service in honor of a man whose legacy was built upon justice, equality and service to others. With your help, organizations like Commons can continue to keep his vision alive.

For nearly 120 years, Chicago Commons has been an advocate for basic civil rights. Commons provides quality education opportunities for children and youth, educational training for adults and senior care services in some of Chicago's most isolated communities. Our services help break down barriers, provide access to economic stability and enable people and communities to become self-sustaining.

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday is a chance to start 2014 off right by making an impact in your community.  Contact us to volunteer your time!

Sincerely,

Edgar Ramirez
