Celebrate the red month with us!

We found this wonderful clear red jersey knit from St. John and thought February was just the time to introduce it. As you know, we support the Go Red for Women campaign every February. We hope you'll take the time to make a new top for February 7th which is Wear Red Day in support of research for women's heart disease. 10% of all sales of this knit from now through February will be donated to the campaign. Thank you in advance for your support. In the meantime, we think you'll be thrilled with the quality of this jersey and be very happy you purchased it for now or for a later project. Rayon/spandex.

Andalucia
in 2 colors
orig $18/yd sale $5.88/yd

We couldn't resist this special buy in printed viscose/elastane knit. Ornamental pointed ovals run lengthwise alternating with columns of circles enclosed in rounded squares. The tiled effect tricks the eye and does not show as a stripe, although horizontal matching would be pleasing. Vertical repeat: 3/4 in.

Choose: barley blue or lavender gray

Springtide
linen tweed from Italy

orig $23/yd  sale $12.99/yd

We never get tired of multi-toned tweeds. This rayon/linen blend is drapey and textural at the same time. Good choice for casual jackets and cardigans. Underline with Gridweft for more stability if desired. The colors look similar, but there is a difference in the weft yarn which is the color we used to distinguish the two selections. 61 in (H/D)

Blue-Gray: Soft aqua and tangerine are twisted with ivory for the warp yarns. Blue Gray twisted with white form the weft. Shown with Seasidebutton in Seafoam.

Black Soft aqua and tangerine are twisted with ivory for the warp yarns. Black twisted with white form the weft.

Donlan
novelty weave cotton

orig $16/yd  sale $10.99/yd

Everyone needs black and white in their wardrobe for each season. This is a great look for summer. The black cotton novelty weave is embellished with two crosswise decorative woven stripes. The effect is sophisticated and will work for dressed up or dressed down. We envision a cardigan jacket over a white dress or a vest to top a summer bright.

Sew Along

with Jenny

Jan 12-22

My fourth top (really? wow!) is complete, and I think this may be my favorite one. This is exactly my style. If I saw this blouse in a store, I would snatch it up. At the moment, that's my definition of success in sewing.

It is based on a cute blouse I saw at Anthropologie with a pleated section on the high bodice.

I started by making pleated rectangles for these sections and then cut out the pieces. I am using McCalls 6167 as a starting point, the same pattern I used for my blue plaid shirt.

Spring Sew Alongs?
If you are interested in coordinating a sew along for the salon this spring, please email me with details.  Can't wait to see what ideas you have!

Jenny's latest top is completed.  It is based on a blouse she saw at Anthropologie with a pleated section on the high bodice.
         Nice job as usual, Jenny!
