This year's festival will be held this Saturday April 25th from 9-4 at the Tolland Agricultural Center located at 24 Hyde Avenue, Vernon. Admission is only 5 dollars per car.

This annual festival is celebrating its 106th year. The festival is deep rooted in Connecticut history having first begun in 1909 by the Connecticut Sheep Breeders Association as a program "to promote the keeping of sheep in Connecticut". Over the years, it has evolved and expanded into a highly regarded sheep, wool and fiber festival. It is known New England-wide as a delightful agricultural and educational experience for the general public as well as for shepherds and fiber enthusiasts.

The festival hosts over 50 vendors from CT and the Northeast region; most of which are small farms and businesses.  Items for sale include all types of yarn, wool and fiber products and also fiber tools, dyes, soaps, crafts, kits and finished goods.  There is also a fleece sale featuring quality raw wool fleece from local farms.

The day is packed with demonstrations, seminars and fun activities for kids.  A few of the event highlights include; the Spinning Bee Competition, 4-H Activity Center for kids, Herding Dog Demo,  "Ask the Vet" seminar, wandering minstrels, and the CT Wool Blanket raffle.  A full selection of food is available on site.

The CT 10% Campaign team will be tabling amongst the vendors and signing-up individuals to pledge to spend 10% of their fiber, food and gardening dollars on CT Grown items.  Purchases made at the festival of CT wool & fiber products will count toward fulfilling your pledge.
