Discovery Program Dinner & Silent Auction

Slice - 5th Annual Dinner on the Farm

On September 14th, 2013, the Live Earth Farm Discovery Program will host Slice, our 5th Annual Dinner on the Farm to support hands-on, farming programs for kids of all ages. We will celebrate Apples and Agriculture in the Pajaro Valley with local food, wine, live music, an auction and great company!

When the Gala apples are ripe, you know summer is almost over 
  
Apples thrive in our climate. One wouldn't think by driving through the Pajaro Valley that this was once one of the largest apple growing districts in the country. Most of the apple orchards have been pushed over by bulldozers, replaced by the more lucrative berry, vegetable and flower crops.  An apple orchard needs year-round attention, and the perennial cycle is very different from the annual, season-focused vegetable crops we grow. Apples lean heavily on human help and it takes a lot of devotion, from winter pruning through post-harvest cleanup in late fall. Continue reading on our web site

Our Farm Stand is Open


Come visit the Farm on a Saturday and go home with fresh produce.  Our Farm Stand is open Saturday's from 10am - 3pm at our Green Valley Barn at 1275 Green Valley Rd near Watsonville.
