Hillsboro Online Academy Expands Services to Students and Families
Now in its fourth year of operation, Hillsboro Online Academy has expanded its service model to include on-site physical education and homeschool consultation, making it an excellent option for many students in Hillsboro School District.

The Great Oregon ShakeOut: Oct. 15
 
At 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, more than 500,000 people in Oregon, and 39.9 million worldwide, will be participating in the 2015 ShakeOut, an event where people can practice the appropriate response - Drop, Cover, and Hold On - should an earthquake occur. District's Support of WOU Scholars and IGNiTE Program Recognized by White House
   
The District's ongoing commitment to developing a pathway for Latino students to become educators through its Inspiring Growth Now in Teacher Education (IGNiTE) program and Western Oregon University Bilingual Teacher Scholar partnership will be officially recognized at a White House ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 15.

This year, the student-created campaign "Re-Think, Re-Define: Where Do You Stand?" has rolled out in middle schools.  The campaign encourages students to be a friend, not a "frenemy," and treat others with respect and kindness both in person and online.
