Over 10,000 children go through RCH every year, many with life threatening illness, cancer treatments, and other medical challenges. Many are scared, some become brave and overcome that fear. They overcome that fear because of people's generosity and the love and support of their community. Portland CSI set a goal of 500 toys. Currently we have only collected around 200, so we are extending the drive through the New Year to January 22nd. 

Please take advantage of the after Christmas sales, and help us reach our goal! We will be collecting them at our January Chapter Meeting, or you can drop them off at Precision Images located at 900 SE Sandy Blvd, Portland, OR. Welcome Portland CSI Members to the new year.  With a new year comes new goals and objectives to make our chapter bigger, brighter and better than ever before.  We can't do this without you.  One of the things that makes Portland CSI's programs and education so dynamic are all of the wonderful people that volunteer their time, efforts and expertise to make it happen and we need your voice.

I remember, as a new CSI member, being somewhat confused by our election process. Having been a voter for many years, I knew that the US president did not take office immediately, but was a president-elect for a short time. So it seemed strange that, instead of voting for the next president of CSI, we vote for a person who won't take office as president for at least a year. The other problem had nothing to do with the process; I simply didn't know who was running for office! But we'll get to that later. READ MORE >
